Meet your Instructor

TRANSCRIPT:

Hello everyone, my name is Dr. Arshia Sharafi. I'm a board-certified oral maxillofacial surgeon from San Diego, California where I practice oral surgery. I'm happy to be here today teaching a course on zygoma implants. My passion is doing full mouth reconstruction with implants and of course zygomatic implants being one of my favorite instruments to place. So I'm happy to be here today to teach this course for you, and we have a great setup for you.

For example, we're going to be discussing how to treatment plan these cases. We're going to discuss how to identify these cases through your patient population, how to feel comfortable selling these cases to patients in your practices. But we're also going to get in depth in how to place these implants, what the anatomy will look like, what the complications are that can arise from these procedures.

We're going to take you through a model surgery where we can do single zygoma implants and quad zygoma implants. We're also going to have a cadaver section where we describe how to place the implants in a cadaver, and on the cadaver, we're going to be able to show you a little bit what the anatomy looks like by removing some of the soft tissue and showing you where the nerves and zygomatic bone is and how to properly place the implant.

And also, we're going to finish the course with live surgery that was done in San Diego where I'm going to narrate the surgery where you get to see the zygomatic implant on a live patient with an additional bonus of maybe a pterygoid implant and other implants involved. So I really hope you enjoy the course. We're excited and we're excited that you're going to be part of it. Thank you.
